Do most mothers play computer games with their children? I have no idea, I just know that I greatly enjoy playing 'Platypus' with mine. The music is great, and the graphics are superb - 'claymation' as miniclip.com calls it, and it was a nominee for the best 'Shoot 'em up' category of games on the site.
What I like about it is that two people can play together, as a team, not against each other, to combat the enemy aircraft, boats, floating mines and so on. You get to share out the super weaponry such as rockets, machine guns and lasers and blast the enemy who splat with all the satisfaction of Wallace and Gromit clay-style effects.
I like it so much I bought it (14.95€) which delighted the boys as we can now play all the levels. They love it that mummy likes playing with them too, and even better that I genuinely like playing; I'm not just doing it to please them.
I also sneakily play it when they've gone to bed, all by myself, and have consequently clocked up the highest score in the family: 277,000. I'm more than a little proud!
